This year’s report represents the work of 99 researchers from 51 institutions in every continent. With new and updated indicators, it will be launched ahead of the 27th UN Conference of the Parties (COP27), providing new evidence to support accelerated climate action and prompt fossil fuel phase out to protect the health of populations around the world.

As the health impacts of climate change are increasingly felt by populations in every country, threats to our food security, disease transmission, and impacts on our livelihoods are now compounding with the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, energy and cost of living crises. In the response to these coexisting crises, the world is at a critical juncture. Our responses offer a chance to unlock a thriving future based on cleaner, greener, renewable energies with a definite move away from fossil fuels enabling all to live in a more secure environment.
